Bonding

A conservative, single-visit fix for chips, gaps, and minor imperfections — using tooth-colored resin that blends naturally.

Dental Bonding

Bonding is a conservative way to repair slightly chipped, discolored, or crooked teeth. During dental bonding, a white filling is placed onto your tooth to improve its appearance. The filling "bonds" with your teeth, and because it comes in a variety of tooth-colored shades, it closely matches the appearance of your natural teeth.

Uses for Dental Bonding

  • Repairing chipped or cracked teeth
  • Improving the appearance of discolored teeth
  • Closing spaces between teeth
  • Making teeth look longer
  • Changing the shape of teeth
  • Replacing amalgam (silver) fillings with a tooth-colored alternative

Bonding is less expensive than other cosmetic treatments and usually can be completed in one visit to our office.

What to Know

Bonding can stain and is easier to chip than other cosmetic treatments such as porcelain veneers. Avoid coffee, tea, red wine, and tobacco for the first 48 hours after bonding. If it does break or chip later, tell Dr. Song — bonding can typically be repaired easily in one visit.
