Dentures
Having a confident, healthy, beautiful smile is important even for patients wearing dentures. Our practice provides personalized denture services that meet the needs and comfort levels of our patients. All of our patients are unique and we create one-of-a-kind dentures that feel good and look natural.
Types of Dentures
Full Dentures — Given to patients when all natural teeth have been removed. Conventional full dentures are placed after gum tissue has healed (several months). Immediate full dentures are placed right after teeth are removed and may require frequent adjustments during the first few months.
Partial Dentures — Attached to a frame connected to your natural teeth, used to fill in where permanent teeth have been removed. A removable alternative to bridges.
Dentures, just like natural teeth, require daily maintenance to stay clean and keep bacteria from growing. Proper care ensures your dentures last longer and your gums stay healthy.
Caring for Your Dentures
- Stand over a folded towel or sink of water when handling dentures — they break easily if dropped
- Brush your dentures every day with a soft brush and gentle cleanser (not regular toothpaste)
- Rinse dentures after each meal
- Keep dentures moist when not wearing them — in denture solution or water
- Continue brushing your gums and tongue daily even with full dentures
If your dentures break or become uncomfortable, contact us right away. Continue scheduling regular dental checkups every six months.
